Five reasons a page is deleted

Published July 22, 2026 · 1 min read

Most deleted entries fail for the same handful of reasons. None of them is bad writing.

First, no independent sources: everything traces back to the subject. Second, sources that mention rather than cover, a name in a list is not significant coverage.

Third, a promotional tone that reads as advertising. Fourth, undisclosed paid editing, which invites scrutiny and reversal. Fifth, sources that look independent but are not: syndicated releases, sponsored features, interviews.

A deletion is public and permanent, the log outlives the page. That is why we audit before we draft, and decline when the record cannot carry an entry.
